If you asked people who some of the greatest wrestlers ever are, chance are that Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan would crop up a lot. Each man has made massive contributions to the wrestling world, whether it be in WWE or not. However, we haven’t been lucky enough to see Angle and Bryan face off inside the ring, and due to Daniel’s forced retirement, it’s likely we never will. But Kurt Angle is still hoping for it.
While answering questions on his Facebook page, “The Olympic Hero” was asked about dream matches. His response is below:
“I knew Bret wasn’t possible because of his stroke 15+ years ago, so I’d say Bryan. We could still have it. I’m holding out hope but chances are very slim.”
Even though he knows it’s unlikely, it’s great to hear that Angle would be open to a match with Daniel Bryan. Doctors are extremely unlikely to clear Bryan any time soon, but Daniel himself has been vocal about returning to the ring. He’s even said on Talking Smack that if WWE would let him, he’d be wrestling again.
Though there’s only a slight probability of Daniel Bryan returning to the squared-circle, let’s hope that we get to see him face Kurt Angle at some point.
So, what do you think of Angle’s comments? Would you like to see Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Bryan?
