Earlier today on Smackdown, Dean Ambrose used an (unintentional) assist from James Ellsworth to defeat AJ Styles in the main event of tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live in Newark. The win made him number one contender to the WWE world championship.
It didn’t take long for the title match to be announced, as Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon made a special appearance on Talking Smack to make the announcement right after the show.
He announced that Styles would take on Ambrose for the title in a TLC match. The show is scheduled for Sun., Dec. 4, 2016, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, just two weeks after the dual brand Survivor Series pay-per-view.
This could potentially be the blow-off to their longstanding feud. Are you excited for the blue brand’s next exclusive PPV?
