Roman Reigns won the US Title from Rusev back at Clash of Champions, and has since feuded with the Bulgarian Brute over the title. It appears as if that feud has come to an end, and Reigns will be in need of a new challenger after the Survivor Series ‘Raw vs Smackdown’ matches.
The plan is supposedly for Reigns to face off against Kevin Owens for the Universal Title at Roadblock in December (which is a terrible idea), but that feud may not last long as we head into Wrestlemania season.
There are a plethora of opponents for Reigns to face for the US Title on Raw or from NXT, but we have narrowed it down to just three.
Maybe this won’t be the most popular pick, but big Braun Strowman is on a tear at the moment and is building a lot of momentum. The guy is terrifying, and Reigns could be the man to slay the beast-or be taken down. Strowman is in need of some real competition, and a step up to the US Title scene could help him develop.
The seeds for this feud could definitely be planted at Survivor Series as they are on the same team in the Raw vs Smackdown tag team match.
This one would require Reigns to turn heel, as Cesaro is way to popular to work heel against the champion who already has a large portion of the audience booing him. The two could put on some stellar matches and it could help elevate Cesaro to the next level in WWE.
Whether or not WWE would want to do this is a big question mark, as they seem certain that Reigns is going to succeed as a top babyface moving forward for the company.
The wild card choice, but definitely the most intriguing match if it were to be a Wrestlemania feud. Nakamura is the current NXT champion, so this would require him to drop the title on his way up to the main roster-but if a feud with the US champ awaits him, that would only be a blip on the radar for the King of Strong Style.
Reigns would potentially have to work heel here too, as Nakamura is one of the most popular stars in pro wrestling. It would be a brutal match as both men work very tough and stiff styles and could help bring the best out of Reigns as Nakamura is one of the elite performers in the industry.
That wraps up our choices to face Roman Reigns for the US title-who are yours? Would you be interested in any of these matches?
