Just a few weeks ago, we saw Mickie James make her return to WWE at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in a losing effort against Asuka. Well, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, it sounds like WWE is holding the door open for her to move to the main roster soon.
Ryan Satin says company officials have stayed in touch with James since her NXT title match against Asuka at TakeOver: Toronto and those conversations have led to an offer for Mickie to perform on the main roster. While the report doesn’t have details about whether she would compete on Raw or SmackDown, or the duration of the contact, it’s interesting to think about her joining either the Red or Blue brand’s women’s division.
Also keep in mind that Triple H stated recently that it was “up to her” whether or not she stays with WWE past the NXT event.
While it’s fun to speculate and difficult not to start fantasy booking, both Triple H’s comments after Toronto and interviews with James heading into her return match raised questions about how interested a 37 year country singer with a two-year son would be in getting back into the WWE grind. Without details of the offer, it’s even tougher to make judgement on it.
Would you be excited for Mickie James to return to the main roster? Would she be able to keep up with the likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte?
