TLC featured New York disc jockey and ESPN podcaster Peter Rosenburg on its pre-show, and reports indicated he would be the first of what WWE hoped would be many celebrity guest stars.
So far, so good for that effort. As he announced on his Sirius XM show with Jim Norton this morning (Dec. 14), as well as this post on Instagram, Sam Roberts will be the next big name wrestling fan to sit at the Kickoff desk:
Couldn’t be happier to announce (as I did on @jimandsamshow today) that this Sunday I will be a part of the pre-show panel for @wwe #RoadBlock live on the @wwenetwork. I don’t exaggerate when I say this is a dream come true. I can’t wait to work with @reneeyoungwwe, @bookertfivex and everyone else on the panel, and am so thankful to everyone inside and outside WWE for helping to make this happen. I’m also thankful for all of my friends and family who trusted that the HOURS of the days, months, and years, of my life spent watching WWE could amount to something amazing. Can’t wait for Sunday…
Roberts is one of the most down-to-earth and enthusiastic guys out there, and his wrestling fandom has brought him a large following. His opinions on the business are well-regarded and is usually a very positive voice about the product-perhaps that is why WWE are using him.
Who else would you like to see join the Kickoff panels going forward?
