Randy Orton, who was pulled from his match against Bray Wyatt at Sunday’s WWE Backlash event, worked a tag match in Fairfax, VA on Monday Night.
Randy Orton teamed up with John Cena to take on the team of Bray Wyatt & Erick Rowen. It was said that John Cena worked the full match by himself, but Orton was tagged in for the finish where he connected with an RKO to get the victory. Randy Orton took no punches or any bumps in the match.
As reported, Orton suffered a concussion in his match against Brock Lesnar at the WWE SummerSlam event. Orton was spotted late last week in Pittsburgh, the same city that Dr. Joseph Maroon, who oversees the WWE Wellness Policy is headquartered. Orton was not on the road for the SmackDown Live events this past weekend, coming in specifically for the Backlash event.
The decision to remove Orton from Sunday’s Backlash event was something that the company had been discussing over the last 7-10 days, so the plan to go with Kane as the substitute had been in place as a “Plan B” and was not a last second decision.
