WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka passed away today at age 73 after a long battle with stomach cancer.

The news was announced by his daughter, WWE wrestler Tamina, on her Instagram. The Rock also announced it on his Twitter.

Superfly started wrestling in the WWF in the early 80s. One of his most memorable moments was a famous dive from the top of a steel cage (when that wasn’t an everyday thing like today) and he had long time feud with the late Roddy Piper, which included the latter smashing a coconut over Snuka’s head in another highly iconic moment. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.

Our condolences goes out to the Snuka family.
