When Mickie James showed up to help Alexa Bliss keep the SmackDown women’s championship, it put her on the bad side of Becky Lynch, the former champion who spent so much time trying to get her title back.
Bliss has moved on to Naomi while the Irish Lasskicker is stuck dealing with the returning star in James.
Now, news has broken the two will wrestle at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for this Sun., Feb. 12, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. This should not come as a surprise to anyone who follows the show each week.
What potentially is a big surprise for fans is that this now means three of the five announced matches are from the women’s division, which is a really good thing and shows that Smackdown is using all of their women’s division instead of Raw who only focuses on one or sometimes two feuds at a time.
The updated Elimination Chamber match card:
- John Cena vs. AJ Styles vs. The Miz vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE championship)
- Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi (Women’s championship)
- American Alpha vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Vaudevillains vs. The Ascension vs. The Usos vs. Breezango vs potentially The Revival (Tag team championship)
- Nikki Bella vs. Natalya
- Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James
