The nature of the pro wrestling business, unfortunately, is that injuries do occur quite often. For Cedric Alexander, an injry to his knee has come at the worst possible time: three weeks before Wrestlemania.

First reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Alexander will be out of action for the next several months due to an undisclosed injury to his right knee. The estimated time out for the Cruiserweight star is 3-5 months.

Alexander has been a Superstar who’s been featured prominently since the launch of the cruiserweight division and earned a lot of fans, and possibly a WWE contract, with a great showing in the Cruiserweight Classic.

When the scene moved to Raw and 205 Live, he continued to get a good reaction from audiences as part of a storyline romance and break-up with Alicia Fox while feuding with Noam Dar.

He hasn’t been seen on screen for a few weeks, and this injury is likely the reason why.

Fortunately, with Neville’s reign and great Fastlane match with Jack Gallagher changing some minds about the cruiserweights, the division should be fine without him. Hopefully it’ll be that much more popular when Alexander returns, and he can move into a higher position on the card.

Disappointing news for Alexander, but absence tends to make the heart grow fonder.

Who would you like to see Cedric feud with upon his return?
