At WrestleMania 33 Dean Ambrose will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Baron Corbin. There is no announced stipulation for this match at the moment.

Dean Ambrose won the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz back in January. The Miz had two lengthy reigns as IC Champ after WrestleMania 32. He brought new attention to the mid-card Championship. He had a very entertaining rivalry with Dolph Ziggler for the last few months of 2016. A rivalry that included a Career vs Title match. Where Ziggler put his career on the line if he couldn’t win the IC title from The Miz. He would go on to win the title, but Miz would win it back just a few weeks later. Holding it until January, where Ambrose would take down The Miz once and for all.

Since winning the Intercontinental Championship, Dean Ambrose has been somewhat absent from Smackdown Live. He has not defended it much, aside from at live events, and has not been present in regular programming besides some backstage interviews/segments. He was last seen two weeks ago when he officially accepted Baron Corbin’s challenge for WrestleMania.

Ambrose is one of the hardest working Superstars on Smackdown Live. He and AJ Styles pretty much carried the show for most of 2016. But, his reign as IC Champion has been lackluster. His only major feuds has been with Baron Corbin and The Miz. And he’s held the title for almost 4 months now.

Corbin will be participating in his 2nd WrestleMania this year. He was a surprise entrant in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal last year. It was an even bigger surprise that he won it. Corbin had a rocky first few months in the WWE. He struggled to find his footing. But, after the WWE Draft Corbin hit the ground running. Becoming one of the Top Stars on Smackdown Live.

It is rumored that Corbin will be walking out of WrestleMania with some gold around his waist. Backstage officials have been increasingly impressed by Corbin as of late. It would be no surprise that he would take down Ambrose at the Grandest show of the year. If Corbin wins the Intercontinental Championship, it could be a great stepping stone towards the Main Event scene on Smackdown. Opening many more doors for the Lone Wolf.

What do you think 434 fans? Do you think Baron Corbin will take down The Lunatic Fringe at WrestleMania? Do you think he will win his first Championship since joining the main roster? Let us know in the comments!!
