Last week during the Superstar Shake-Up it was announced what Superstars would be moving from Raw to Smackdown Live. One of those trades included The Longest Reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history.

The New Day was officially traded to Smackdown Live in night 2 of the Shake-Up. That’s right, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E are officially moving to Tuesday Nights. And they’re bringing their Booty-O’s and New Day Pops with them!! But, that move will not be occurring right away.

Last week WWE officials announced that Kofi Kingston had suffered an ankle injury. Many suspect that this injury occurred at the hands of The Revival. The Former NXT Tag Team Champions faced off against The New Day on their first night at Monday Night Raw. Kofi, unfortunately, was targeted by the team. His ankle and leg specifically. It is almost 100% certain that the injury occurred during that match. Kingston is expected to be out of in-ring action for the next 4-6 weeks. He has already undergone surgery and did not compete alongside his New Day brothers last week.

Last Tuesday on Smackdown Live, many Monday Night Raw Superstars made their debut. Those names included The United States Champion Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair, Tamina (Returning from injury), The Shining Stars and Jinder Mahal. But, some Superstars didn’t make their Smackdown debut that night. It was announced that Rusev, Lana and Sin Cara will also be moving to The Blue Brand. Even though they weren’t at the show. The New Day was also one of those names. In a short promo it was announced that the former 2x Tag Team Champions would be “Coming Soon” to Smackdown Live.

Many fans speculate that The New Day won’t be making their Smackdown Debut until after Kofi Kingston returns. The New Day isn’t really The New Day unless all three members are present. Most likely Big E and Xavier Woods will remain on Raw for the next few weeks. It would make the most sense to stay on The Red Brand a bit longer to finish the small feud they started with The Revival. The newest members of Monday Night Raw’s Tag Team Division need a solid, strong feud to kick off their Main Roster Run. The New Day has the experience, in-ring talent, and charisma to push the young team to their limits. This can show how amazing Dash and Dawson really are. They need the chance to prove themselves against one of the most successful Tag Teams of all time in The New Day.

Even though The New Day won’t be making their Smackdown Live debut right away, it’s going to be worth the wait. The SDL Tag Team division hasn’t been making waves lately. The longest reigning Tag Team Champions in History are just what that division needs to make it truly great. The Usos better watch out… The New Day will be coming for those Smackdown Tag Team Championships soon.
