Fans like me don’t have time to religiously watch NXT every Wednesday. Heck, I just record Raw and SmackDown, then fast forward when the boring matches come. Anyway, here are the NXT spoilers for May 2017.

Thanks to Will Henderson (@willh94) and for WWE NXT TV spoilers from the taping sessions at Full Sail University in Florida.

  • SAnitY’s Killian Dain is getting a push in NXT. He uses Kenny Omega’s finishing maneuver to defeats Danny Burch but not in a squash-type of way
  • Upcoming Tag Team, Heavy Machinery seems to be ‘over’ with the crowd. This is good news for Heavy Machinery and the ever diminishing NXT Tag Team Division. Heavy Machinery is the team of Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic. They squash some enhancement talent and say they want to target the Authors of Pain because they are hungry. If it becomes heavy machinery and AOP in the future. I want the ring to break as well just like the Big Show/Braun Strowman match, lol.
  • Daria Berenato is getting sort of a push by pinning Lacey Evans
  • Aleister Black defeats a jobber
  • Now that Nakamura is out of the picture, NXT is in search of a new #1 contender. Kassius Ohno was just defeated by the NXT champion a few weeks back so he too is out of the picture for the mean time. Therefore, we have a battle of 2 babyfaces: Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong. Hideo Itami wins a good match. They show sportsmanship after the match but Roddy gets slaughtered by SAnitY. Again, Killian Dain is getting pushed here.

  • Dylan Miley always seems to find a tag team partner, then always betrays and beats up said tag team partner after the match. This week, his partner was Hong Kong native, HoHo Lun. Lun and Miley got defeated by Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford.
  • Speaking of HoHo Lun being a jobber, Samoan Sean Maluta is another jobber. Recently acquired NXT Superstar, Drew McIntyre squashes Sean Maluta. He wants a piece of Wesley Blake next week. Blake is Buddy Murphy’s old tag team partner.
  • Resident jobber, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas goes one on one and gets defeated by Kassius Ohno, ohnooo, ohno. Since NXT doesn’t know what to do with Cien, they started a blooming romance with him and former TNA Knockout, Thea Trinidad.
  • DIY challenges AOP for a NXT Tag Team title rematch at NXT Takeover: Chicago. This PPV/event happens on May 21, 2017, the night before Backlash. This rematch will be a Ladder match. But back to this episode, DIY defeats NXT Tag Team jobbers, Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss.

  • The Hideo Itami-Bobby Roode feud is continuing to build up. Roode bad mouths Nakamura and his exit from NXT. Itami then GTS’s everybody in sight including security and Roode himselft.
  • I don’t see Asuka leaving NXT anytime soon. Maybe she’ll be called up to the main roster come SummerSlam or Royal Rumble, but who knows. I hope she takes advantage of the free language classes the WWE offers to every Superstar. That is why John Cena speaks Chinese fluently. The Battle Royal ended up to be a no contest with the final three remaining who were Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, and Ruby Riot. Thus, for NXT TakeOver: Chicago, we will be having another Fatal 4 Way match among Asuka, Moon, Cross, and Riot. Ember Moon was noted to end the night crying because her shoulder hit the guardrail while doing the Eclipse. Kayfabe or not has yet to be determined.
  • Mrs. Candice LeRae-Gargano was part of the Battle Royal by the way. A lot of boos occured when she got eliminated.
