Back in the summer of 2016, it was announced that a former WWE World Champion would become the new Smackdown General Manager. The “Yes Movement” would find a new home on The Blue Brand. Daniel Bryan found his place next to Shane McMahon, as the new authority behind SDL.
Since becoming General Manager, Bryan has brought the show to new heights. For the first time since it’s premiere, Smackdown Live would beat Monday Night Raw in the ratings. The leader of the Yes Movement would shine a light on creating new opportunities. Giving Superstars such as Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal chances to challenge for the WWE Championship. But, in just a few short weeks, Shane McMahon will be on his own in running Smackdown Live.
It was announced on October 5th 2016 that Daniel Bryan and his wife, a former Divas Champion, Brie Bella would become parents. They are welcoming a baby girl into the world in the spring of 2017. That due date is almost upon us. Brie has taken to social media recently. Documenting every step of her pregnancy.
Brie and Daniel’s daughter is due any day now. The couple has already decided on the name of Birdie Joe Danielson. With the due date quickly approaching it is expected that Daniel Bryan will be taking several weeks off. But, one question remains. Will Shane McMahon be running the show alone or will he find a temporary replacement for Bryan?
It is expected that Shane will take on the role of General Manager as well as the commissioner of Smackdown live. But what does that mean for our beloved show? One can assume that Bryan will be gone in the weeks before the Smackdown Exclusive Pay-Per-View Backlash. A Pay-Per-View that is going to be main evented by Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Will some significant changes be made before the Blue Brand’s event? Or will Shane stick to the same “Land of Opportunities” mentality? We will find out in the next few weeks on SDL.
The 434 wishes the best of luck to Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella!!
