NXT saw Heavy Machinery continue to build momentum towards their impending match against the Authors of Pain, Roderick Strong and Bobby Roode had a war of words, Peyton Royce managed to pick up a win, while Hideo Itami took on Oney Lorcan in a hard-hitting match and the main event saw No Way Jose return to in-ring action to face Killian Dain.

Heavy Machinery defeat the team of Lars Sullivan (formerly Dylan Miley) and Victor Andrews. Sullivan was actually making progress on Heavy Machinery until Andrews tagged in against Sullivan’s will, Heavy Machinery then destroyed Andrews for the win. Heavy Machinery are obviously being built to be the next team to face Authors of Pain for the NXT Tag Titles; it will be two teams of giants facing off with one another. There really are no other teams left for AOP now, hopefully by the time AOP & Heavy Machinery finish their feud the Dusty Rhodes Classic will have established a new contender. After the match Lars Sullivan destroys his partner; it looks like he could become a serious player in NXT programming moving forward

Roderick Strong promo comes out to address the NXT universe. Roderick Strong’s character is becoming so heavily focused on being a family man and a father, he’s doing a pretty good job of it too, it feels genuine and probably is. Bobby Roode interrupts pretending to cry, obviously faking and insulting Strong. Roode insults Roderick Strong several times along with his wife and son, this was some of the best work Roode has produced on the microphone in his time in NXT. Roode came across as incredibly arrogant and run down Strong very well. It looks as if Bobby Roode vs Roderick Strong for the NXT Title is in the works. Very effective segment, very well done by both men.

Next week there will be a Triple Threat Elimination Match between Asuka, Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot for the NXT Women’s Title. Seems they are really clearing the way for Asuka vs Ember Moon. Now that Asuka has the undefeated record, perhaps Ember Moon finally wins the title in her comeback match, telling a remarkable story of redemption, while Asuka can finally progress to the main roster well overdue. Ember Moon gives an interview later in the show saying how she is focused for now on Billie Kay & Peyton Royce.

Peyton Royce with Billie Kay in her corner defeats Sarah Logan. Nigel McGuiness on commentary talking about Iconic Duo is hilarious. Peyton Royce & Billie Kay perform their bratty heel characters so well; however it may put a ceiling on how high on the card they can go. Their characters seem lack the ability to be serious and vicious when needed, something that a heel bratty character like Alexa Bliss has mastered.

Hideo Itami says in an interview that he isn’t going back to Japan after his loss to Bobby Roode. Hideo Itami absolutely destroys Oney Lorcan in brutal fashion, turning proper heel in the process. Hideo Itami seems very frustrated from the outset, he is wrestling a very angry and vicious style with a few brutal slaps. Oney Lorcan gives it straight back to him with some incredible chops, slaps and strikes in an insane sequence. Itami seemed to be playing possum in the corner, the ref checked on him and backed off Lorcan as Itami took a cheap shot. He then slapped away and hit the GTS, instead of going for the pin he slowly and methodically hit another GTS, and then did the same with a third, taking out Lorcan for good. The commentators play up how this is a different Itami and the crowd boo’s him accordingly. This acted as a slow burning heel turn for Itami. Kassius Ohno comes out to stop Itami from inflicting more damage to Lorcan, Itami shoves Ohno out of the way as the two stare each other down. Seems a heel Hideo Itami against a Kassius Ohno feud is coming our way.

A Drew McIntyre video package is played, and he will be in action again next week.

The Main Event saw Killian Dain defeat No Way Jose. No Way Jose and his entrance is a whole lot of fun. Killian Dain seems to have his own entrance music aside from Sanity, which is a good sign for him moving forward, shows that WWE is serious about him. Sanity come to the ring with Dain but then leave ringside before the start of the match. Nothing out of the ordinary in the match but No Way Jose put in a good showing in his return match on television and Killian Dain continues to be built as a monster.
