The WWE Championship picture has been an interesting one ever since Backlash, where Jinder Mahal surprisingly won the title. At Money in the Bank, he retained over hometown boy Randy Orton, in front of his father Bob Orton.

Orton and Mahal battled all over the ringside area and the Maharaja started to get the upperhand. He started to focus on Orton’s knee and even locked on the Nature Boy Ric Flair’s Figure Four Leg Lock.

The Viper started to work his way back in the match and he even took to the top rope to take out Mahal. After hitting an RKO, he covered Mahal, but the Singh Brothers interfered and helped the champion avoid defeat.

However, this got them thrown from the ringside area. After this happened, Bob Orton taunted the Brothers by telling them to go to the back.

This did not sit too well with the Singh Brothers as they went after the WWE Hall of Famer. This prompted the Apex Predator to go after them and all hell broke loose.

This ringside beatdown allowed Jinder Mahal to take advantage of the distraction. He hit Orton with the Khallas and walk out of Money in the Bank with his WWE Championship.
