Money in the Bank was a pretty lackadaisical night of matches, but the main event for the briefcase did not disappoint. It was truly a night of opportunity as Baron Corbin was able to ascend to the top of the ladder and win.

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match started off before the opening bell sounded as The Lone Wolf attacked Shinsuke Nakamura during the Artist’s entrance. Corbin’s M.O. for the last few weeks effectively took Nakamura out of the match before it ever started.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went right after each other like their rivalry never ended. The Underdog from the Underground showed he was here to play as he hit the United States Champion with an early Tope Suicida.

Zayn continued to prove he would be the MVP in this match as he pulled off an incredible Sunset Flip Powerbomb on Dolph Ziggler from the top of the ladder. It looked like the former El Generico would take home the briefcase before AJ Styles had something to say about it with a Phenomenal Forearm, taking Zayn off the ladder.

However, Styles could not take advantage of his death-defying leap and ate a chokeslam on to a ladder from Corbin.

With bodies laid everywhere, it looked like Styles would bring the briefcase home with him, but Ziggler once again played the annoying fly in the room and left the Phenomenal One hanging high above the ring.

After Nakamura was taken out to start the match, it looked like he would never make it into the match, but as Corbin was looking to climb the ladder, the Artist’s music hit once again and he was back.

As Nakamura prepared to climb the ladder, the face-off that everyone has been waiting on finally happened. Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles went toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring.

The two continued to battle and even found themselves at the top of the ladder.

However, Baron Corbin pushed the ladder over and sent both Styles and Nakamura crashing down. He climbed the ladder and pulled down the briefcase.
