Last year at SummerSlam, we saw Seth Rollins battle Finn Balor for the chance to become the first ever Universal Champion, and fans saw Finn Balor prevail (whilst being injured) to capture the Universal Championship.

Finn Balor, at this stage, does not have a match for the Great Balls of Fire PPV on Sunday Night. Fans believe Finn Balor vs Elias Samson may be added as a last minute match up for the already stacked cards, but the odds of that aren’t looking very likely.

It’s being reported that if the match does not get added to the Great Balls of Fire PPV, then Finn Balor vs Elias Samson will indeed be added to the 2017 SummerSlam card, which seems like an unlikely choice for a man who was in a title match on the Pay Per View last year.

It’s also worth noting that another route WWE officials were looking at was to have a mega fatal four way for the Universal Championship, involving Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Finn Balor & Seth Rollins. No word yet on whether or not those plans have been scrapped yet, but we will wait and find out.
