This week on NXT the number one contender for the NXT Championship was determined when Drew McIntyre took on Sanity’s Killian Dain for the right to face Bobby Roode at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. In addition was Ember Moon vs Ruby Riot in a brilliant match, No Way Jose vs Cezar Bononi and Oney Lorcan vs Danny Burch in a hard-hitting contest.

Ember Moon defeated Ruby Riot in a wonderful match. Acting as essentially a number one contender match considering the two women are the two main threats to Asuka’s NXT Women’s Championship; Moon & Riot put on a fantastic opening contest, with both women showing why they have incredibly bright futures in the WWE; both women would make great NXT Women’s Championships. Ember Moon won the with Eclipse, which has to be one of the best finishers in the game right now. Incredible work by both women.

Kassius Ohno vs Hideo Itami is announced for next week on NXT and the two have another brief backstage confrontation. I just do not understand who Kassius Ohno is meant to be at the moment.

Oney Lorcan submitted Danny Burch with a deep single leg Boston Crab in an incredibly very hard-hitting match. Both men slogged it out before Danny Burch challenged Lorcan to one more match after his defeat. These two made me want to see them go at it again, job well done.

No Way Jose defeats Cezar Bononi in a quick match. No Way Jose brings an infectious energy along with his gimmick and it’s great. After the match Andrade Cien Almas jumps Bononi, the man who defeated Almas in a shock victory a few months ago which the commentators reminded us of before this match. No Way Jose came to make the save but Almas escaped without having to come to blows with Jose.

Drew McIntyre defeated Sanity’s Killian Dain in the main event to become the number one contender for Bobby Roode’s NXT Championship at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. Incredible to think that these two men were dominating the UK Independent Scene only a matter of months ago. The two men put on a good match together; while in defeat, Killian Dain kicked out of the Future Shock DDT at only one, and got straight back up no selling a Claymore Kick. It took the second Claymore Kick to get the win for McIntyre, but they did a great job of making Killian Dain remain looking very strong in defeat. great work again.
