Earlier this year, the WWE held its first ever United Kingdom Championship Tournament. The tournament was seen as a success, and crowned its first ever champion in 19-year old Tyler Bate.

Since then, the British stars have performed mainly under the NXT banner. Two months ago, Tyler Bate lost his title to Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in one of the best matches of 2017 (so far).

The Bruiserweight looked to be the man to lead the UK stars to a new level. Around the time that he won the title, WWE half-heartedly announced that they would be receiving their own show. This however has not yet come to fruition.

Speculation is growing that the show has actually been cancelled, or at least pushed back. This speculation has been fuelled by a report from Cageside Seats that the UK Champion, Dunne, has started taking bookings for September onwards.

This would be a very disappointing step back for the British stars. They had shown plenty of promise during the tournament and the likes of Bate and Dunne are guys who are going to be around for many years to come.

Would you like to see the UK stars have their own weekly show? Is this another example of WWE trying to cut costs?
