WWE has been steadily breaking into the UK more and more, including a live special called by Jim Ross, and Pete Dunne winning the UK title from Tyler Bate in a show stealer at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.
WWE has inked top stars — like Dunne, Bate, Trent Seven, Wolfgang, Mark Andrews — to new deals so they can work as needed in both the UK and at the Performance Center. The plan was to tape a WWE UK Special every 6 weeks which would air on the WWE Network.
It looks like plans may have changed. WWE United Kingdom Champion, Pete Dunne has started taking bookings for shows this fall. This may be a hint that WWE currently has no plans for the UK show. Perhaps, another cost cutting measure? WWE also hasn’t talked about it anywhere. It is possible that the UK Championship will be defended occasionally on NXT Specials.
