With Night 13 of the G1 Climax just a few hours away, the stakes have never been bigger for the G1 competitors. Now that 60 tournament matches are already in the books, let’s check out the current standings, calculated by The 434, leading into tonight’s show.

Block A

Pts

Block B

Pts
Hiroshi Tanahashi 8 Kazuchika Okada 12
Tetsuya Naito 8 Kenny Omega 10
Tomohiro Ishii 8 EVIL 8
Zack Sabre Jr. 8 Minoru Suzuki 8
Bad Luck Fale 6 SANADA 8
Hirooki Goto 6 Michael Elgin 4
Kota Ibushi 6 Tama Tonga 4
Togi Makabe 6 Toru Yano 4
YOSHI-HASHI 4 Juice Robinson 2
Yuji Nagata 0 Satoshi Kojima 0

As we can see, Block B is not quite as tight as Block A, but both blocks now hold competitors who technically can not win, as with just 3 shows to go they could not make up the points.

The eliminated wrestlers are as follows:

  • Yuji Nagata
  • Michael Elgin
  • Tama Tonga
  • Toru Yano
  • Juice Robinson
  • Satoshi Kojima

With only one star from Block A eliminated, Yuji Nagata, (who has out performed every guy he has lost to), literally HALF of Block B is already eliminated. This is due to the dominance of Okada and Omega, who will likely face off on Night 18 in their third singles match to determine the block winner. Perhaps the biggest surprise in the early eliminations is Michael Elgin, who has had a sadly disappointingly run, outside of his upset victory over favourite Kenny Omega.
