Yesterday, word got out that former Chinese WWE/NXT Cruiserweight superstar, Ho Ho Lun, got released. This probably doesn’t come as a shock to many people (Some people even don’t know who he was).

The Chinese wrestler competed in the Cruiserweight Classic (Beating Ariya Daivari but losing to Noam Dar in the second round), the Dusty Rhodes Classic (Teaming with Tian Bing to lose to DIY in the first round) and a few matches on NXT (Losing to Andrade Cien Almas and, lastly, to The Velveteen Dream).

But today, additional information about Ho Ho Lun’s situation has been revealed. A WWE representative, who confirmed Ho Ho’s release, said the following:

“WWE has granted HoHo Lun’s request to be released for personal reasons.”

The only thing we know about his “personal reasons” is that it’s a family situation. But that is the only thing we know.

Apart from his sporadic appearances on WWE TV, he owns wrestling promotions in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Pro-Wrestling Federation and Zero1 Hong Kong, and has wrestled in countries such as the UK, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore. He is also a former Junior Heavyweight Champion. He was planned to appear/wrestle on 205 Live, but that was certainly scrapped as Lun got released.

We at The 434 wish Ho Ho Lun good luck and the best wishes for his family.
