WWE is less than two weeks away from Summerslam, and the card is starting to shape up pretty well.
There were two matches planned to take place that unfortunately, due to injury, had to be changed.
Bayley was scheduled to face Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship but suffered a separated shoulder. The Revival were set to face The Hardy’s, but a bicep injury to Scott Dawson has sent those plans to the scrapheap.
Both Dawson and Bayley will be out of action for an extended period.
The injury to Dawson has forced WWE to rethink their plans regarding Jeff and Matt Hardy. It is now being reported by PWInsider that The Hardy’s will now face the Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows on the Summerslam Kickoff show.
The other match that is rumoured to take place on the pre-show portion of the event is The Uso’s vs The New Day for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles. This is interesting and kind of underwhelming, as the feud on Smackdown has been pretty entertaining and the two teams have been working hard to put on high-quality matches.
Plans can obviously change between now and Summerslam, but PWInsider is saying that for the time being that is the current idea for the two-hour pre show. The main card will be four hours long.
The show is shaping up to be a very entertaining one across the board. The main event matches are all going to be show-stealers and provide us with an idea where WWE is headed moving towards the end of the year and into Wrestlemania 34 in April.
Are you looking forward to Summerslam? Are there any last minute matches you would like to see added?
