Erick Rowan won’t be lurking around any more corners backstage at SmackDown Live for quite some time, as the big man has recently had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, according to a report from PW Insider.

WWE has yet to make an announcement on his status either way, but such an injury could take anywhere from 4-12 months to return from.

This would be the second time Rowan has missed significant time due to injury over the past year, as he was out around this time last year dealing with a torn bicep. That came shortly after he reunited with Luke Harper.

Speaking of Harper, he’s reportedly been cleared to return so perhaps he’ll take Rowan’s spot as Wyatt’s right hand man on SmackDown which could be an intriguing twist. He was backstage at Monday Night Raw in recent weeks but wasn’t there last night.
