Following WWE No Mercy – Where Braun Strowman faces off against Brock Lesnar – The Monster Among Men is expected to stay in the main event scene.

The former Wyatt family member has been a destructive force on the RAW brand for quite some time now, with many fans expecting him to win the WWE Universal Championship at No Mercy. As I noted previously, Strowman is not expected to win at the PPV, however, he is expected to be protected. The rumours are revealing that the WWE are “planning to protect him in defeat”. This could mean one of two things – either someone is expected to interfere with the match, or Strowman will lose via count-out or disqualification.

Now, rumours also suggest that Braun Strowman is expected to say in the main event scene following the upcoming PPV. And so he should. The thirty-four year old has proven himself to be a major player in the main event mix, having great matches against the likes of Roman Reigns, The Big Show, and even against Lesnar at SummerSlam. The progression this man has made, over such a short period (two years), is impressive to say the least. Even if he loses to Brock Lesnar at No Mercy, Braun Strowman is expected to stay at or near the main event scene throughout the remainder of 2017.

The reports could also suggest that the Monster Among Men could be getting a rematch against Lesnar following No Mercy, which is predictable seeing as how most high-caliber matches end up being a trilogy. Furthermore, it could also suggest that Lesnar will not be around for a while following No Mercy. Meaning, the Universal Championship will not be on TV (or pay-per-view) – for that matter. Hence, Strowman being a top contender around the main event scene, while Lensar’s not around defending his Championship seems appropriate. The latter seems the most likely, however, either way, it’s great to see that the WWE creative team has enough trust Strowman to be the main event guy – even if it is for just for a short period of time.

What are your thoughts? Are you a Strowman fan and think he deserves to be in the main event scene? Are you ready for the Lesnar/Strowman storyline to be a trilogy? Will Strowman come out on top after this rivalry finishes? Let me know below.
