As we all know, CM Punk and WWE had a very nasty break-up back in early 2014, and this led to him badmouthing the company’s head doctor, Chris Amann.

His allegations about poor treatment came on Colt Cabana’s podcast, Art of Wrestling, and has since landed both the host and guest in hot water.

Dr. Amann filed a defamation lawsuit against Punk and Cabana for the interview, where the former WWE Champion alleged that Amann misdiagnosed a staph infection, pressured him to work with a concussion among other claims of poor treatment.

Last week, Colt Cabana caught up with Live Audio Wrestling (LAW) and said that he is still paying for the ongoing lawsuit against him and his longtime friend:

The update is that it’s still going on, it’s costing me a lot of money, and that’s the extent that my lawyers will allow me to talk. So nothing breaking here, but just do know that it’s always on my mind, it’s always a very sad thing. And I’ve talked to other podcasters, even [LAW’s John] Pollock, it’s kind of changed the way that he’s worked, and realizing that this is a reality that you can host a show and get sued for it.

The update is not very thorough but you can tell through his words that Cabana is disappointed by the way the case has been handled.

Many, including this writer, believe that Cabana being sued for being the host of the show is very unfair. Punk’s words are a reflection of his own beliefs and thoughts about WWE’s head doctor, and his friend should not be paying the price.

We haven’t seen Punk since his UFC debut and subsequent loss to up and comer Mickey Gall, and his future in MMA is still up in the air despite being under contract to UFC.

Will this case ever be resolved? Do you think it is unfair for Colt Cabana to be involved in the proceedings?
