It really isn’t hard to see why fans aren’t investing much into Hell in a Cell this year. While the presumed main event should be fun to watch, the rest of the card seems mediocre at best. Smackdown Live will try to make the best of what they have right now and put on a gimmick show that will be hard pressed to live up to last year’s show that featured the first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match.
Kevin Owens takes on Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon in a match that promises two things: 1. Shane O’Mac is jumping off something big. 2. Owens is going to be a superstar after the match. If this isn’t the headlining match, then there is something very wrong since it is the only singles match inside the Cell.
Shinsuke Nakamura looks to finally end the reign of the Modern Day Maharaja as he takes on Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship. You also have the only other Hell in a Cell match on the card when The New Day defend their Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship against The Usos and that should be a fun match in what will likely be the final in this long feud.
Whatever the case, Hell in a Cell must be near perfect to exceed fans’ expectations of the show going into it. Let’s take a look at some of the matches and makes some predictions!
