The first episode of 205 Live under the reign of the new Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto saw the champion in tag team action with Mustafa Ali against the new friends Enzo Amore & Ariya Daivari. Rich Swann & TJP also put an end to their feud with a Two-out-of-Three falls match.

Kalisto & Enzo Amore Promo. Grade: B- Kalisto gave a quick interview with Renee Young in the ring dedicating his victory to Eddie Guerrero, before he was interrupted by Enzo Amore & Ariya Daivari. Enzo gave a good promo trashing Kalisto, before Daivari tried to jump the new champion. The heels used the numbers advantage until Mustafa Ali made the safe. Kalisto’s promo skills are frankly dreadful, and having improved much since his “Lucha Things” performance; Enzo was very good on the mic as always; simple segment, but ultimately did its job in setting up the nights main event.

Rich Swann defeated TJP in a Two-out-of-Three Falls Match 2-0. Grade: B. Swann cut a passionate promo before the match saying that his friendship with TJP is over and this match will signify the defying end of it; and it was certainly a comprehensive victory to Swann. Swann got the first fall with a simple pinning combination (as a side note, I hate how in multi-fall matches, pin attempts that would usually never work in a one fall match seem to work; just a personal pet peeve), and then Swann scored the second consecutive fall with a Phoenix Splash. A comprehensive, decisive victory for Swann which was nice, but where this leaves TJP is unclear.

Drew Gulak vs Akira Tozawa never begins as Gulak attacks Tozawa. Grade: B- a simple yet effective way to extend this feud, Gulak using his sign as a weapon was a cool touch. These two men have a nice mid-card feud building here. Glad to see Tozawa away from all that Titus Worldwide mess.

Kalisto & Mustafa Ali defeated Enzo Amore & Ariya Daivari. Grade: C+ The match was nothing really special here, good for Kalisto to get the pinfall in his first match as champion, Daivari seemed to serve as the guy to take the fall here saving Enzo from suffering that pinfall ahead of TLC. The match made sense with the tension between Mustafa Ali & Enzo on Raw the night before, this could be the direction headed if Enzo is unable to recapture his championship at the next PPV.
