Ring of Honor saw a huge tag team main event with The Addiction taking on the team of Jay Lethal & KUSHIDA. Cody defended the Ring of Honor World Championship once again and TK O’Ryan took on Jonathan Gresham.
Jonathan Gresham vs TK O’Ryan ended in Disqualification. Grade: C+ The opening bout saw Gresham and O’Ryan go toe to toe before their respective stables got involved. The Kingdom were up to their usual tricks, Search & Destroy came out to negate The Kingdom’s impact but ultimately both teams found themselves being thrown out. The Kingdom then got involved and jumped Gresham causing the disqualification.
A note to make here is the terrific way the commentators gave the Ring of Honor referees credibility during this match, a big contrast to the way WWE officials are portrayed.
Cody defended the Ring of Honor World Championship against Scorpio Sky. Grade: C+ Cody announced a spontaneous World Championship match once again of ROH TV; Scorpio Sky kissed the ring before quickly trying to roll up the champion. While this match wasn’t as good as the one with Cheeseburger a few weeks ago, this will still a fun little match.
Caprice Coleman & the Coleman’s Pulpit with TV Champion Kenny King. Grade: C- A fairly generic and standard promo between the two here with Kenny King as the standard typically babyface; nothing of note was really said here.
Jay Lethal & KUSHIDA defeated The Addiction. Grade: B- Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian have become such incredible heels, in the beginning of the match the Addiction threatened to get themselves counted out before once again lambasting the crowd and the Ring of Honor fans. A good solid main event tag team match with Lethal & KUSHIDA picking up the win. I’d much rather see the established tag team of the Addiction get the win but this could all just be building into the story.
