War Games is Back! A rematch from NXT Takeover Brooklyn for the NXT Tag Team Championship ended in chaos, and there’s only one way to settle it, and its War Games! The NXT Championship Match was also made official for NXT Takeover War Games. Johnny Gargano & Nikki Cross were also in action.

Nikki Cross defeated Taynara Conti. Grade: C. Can’t help but feel this could have been more of a feud than it was; it’s great to give Nikki Cross a good win heading into the Fatal Four Way match but given what led to the match this could have been a good little lower mid-card feud. Conti has huge potential in NXT.

Fabian Aichner defeated Johnny Gargano. Grade: C+ NXT are truly going all in with Gargano as the ultimate underdog who cannot seem to win a match, and in the long run it could be great. Hopefully Aichner can use this win over megastar Johnny Wrestling as a launching pad and NXT can feature him much more prominently, it would be a shame if this win was just forgotten about.

NXT Championship Contract Signing. Grade: C+ Backstage Drew McIntyre singed the contract with General Manager William Regal. As McIntyre made his way to the ring he was attacked from behind by his opponent at NXT Takeover Andrade Cien Almas. While not given much time, this was a nice change up from the standard contract signing in the ring with the table that ends in a brawl.

Sanity Retain the NXT Tag Team Championships over Authors of Pain after Undisputed Era Interference. Grade: B. The match itself was fine but that isn’t what this is about. Authors of Pain had the match won when Undisputed Era attack everyone. Roderick Strong came out and seemed to join the Undisputed Era, until he jumped Adam Cole saving AOP. William Regal announced that at NXT Takeover, Undisputed Era will face Sanity & AOP with Roderick Strong, in War Games! While the match wasn’t special, this was great in setting up War Games, and I cannot wait!
