This week’s episode of SmackDown Live featured Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Monday Night Raw to a series of traditional Survivor Series elimination matches at the pay-per-view (PPV) of the same name on Nov. 20, 2016, in Toronto.

They laid down the challenge for three traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match-ups: male singles, tag team and females. This seems like an interesting concept, but one has to wonder if Smackdown have the depth to cover these three matches plus their ongoing feuds.

The Commissioner of the blue brand had the following to say on Twitter:

Survivor Series is over a month away and Raw has a Hell in a Cell event to take care of first, but this sounds like great fun if Smackdown can get enough members to make up three teams.
