Professional wrestler Kenny Omega is going to start the 2018 year being a free agent in January. The last time he was a free agent he took a while to think about his career on where he wants to be and what’s best for him. Ultimately, he decided to stay in Japan and says he isn’t going anywhere. Personally, NJPW is just the right place for him to be and it’s really nice that he makes appearances in ROH to. He has the best thing going for him in his career which is being the leader of the Bullet Club and the first ever IWGP United States Champion. Kenny should automatically be “untouchable” to WWE for a few reasons.
Obviously WWE were in contact with Omega the last time he was a free agent. Obviously, he denied their offer. Ever since re-signing with NJPW, Kenny Omega has been very successful. In scenario, if he ever leaves NJPW and decided to leave WWE, I personally think Vince McMahon will destroy him by inconsistently booking him. For example, you have had many NXT call ups like American Alpha, The Vaudevillians, Adam Rose, Mojo Rawley, Bayley, Bo Dallas, The Ascension and Enzo and Big Cass. Obviously, these wrestlers aren’t nowhere as near of a caliber compared to Kenny Omega. What I’m saying is when wrestlers are very successful somewhere else and get called up to the main roster, they aren’t the same anymore and they are booked completely different compared to how they should be.
Another thing you have to put into consideration is the other main members of the Bullet Club (The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes) really don’t see eye to eye with the company. Cody was not happy with the way he was booked and had requested to be released from the company. Then you have The Young Bucks who were pretty pissed off because of the cease and desist letter they had received from WWE about the “too sweet” gesture and phrase. Both Rhodes and Young Bucks have been very public about their differences towards the company when it came to social media at wrestling shows. When it comes to personal life and outside of kayfabe, you’d have to imagine Omega has built a big bond when it comes to being close and friends with his fellow Bullet Club members. However, wrestling is a business and more than likely Kenny Omega knows what’s best for him.
I think it would be best if WWE doesn’t contact Kenny Omega. You already have big stars like AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakmura and many other wrestlers in NXT like Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’ Riley, Drew Mcintyre, Roderick Strong etc. WWE has great depth of talent already. They just need to do a better job of booking on the main roster and hopefully they do that with Styles, Nakamura and the future NXT call-ups. Omega should sign his contract extension with ROH and WWE needs to impress with the talent that they already have. What do you fans think? Should Kenny Omega stay in Japan or sign somewhere else?
