205 Live featured a TLC rematch when Kalisto got his contractual rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship against Enzo Amore. Also on the card was Rich Swann & Cedric Alexander vs Tony Nese & Noam Dar, and Drew Gulak vs Gran Metalik.
Rich Swann & Cedric Alexander defeated Tony Nese & Noam Dar. Grade: B- A rather strong opening match here saw the heels dominate the majority of the contest targeting the knee of Swann, before Cedric got the hot tag and picked up the win. A proper tag team between these two looks to be in the future and could be a good move to keep them busy while outside of the title picture. The Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher tried to cause a distraction on the ramp and after the match cut a promo calling them deadweight and trying to convince the babyfaces to turn on each other.
Drew Gulak defeated Gran Metalik. Grade: B- Gulak expressed his disappointment and anger at being cut from the TLC Kick-off show trying to go through his entire PowerPoint Presentation in one night before Metalik interrupted, breaking one of his rules. Giving Gulak a win here was much needed reminding the fans he can actually wrestle as well and not just talk. The theme throughout the match of having Metalik break all of Gulak’s rules and having Gulak & the commentators lose their minds over it was great. After the match Gulak tried to take out the knee of the King of the Ropes to ensure he would never fly again, but Akira Tozawa made his return to make the save. Great storytelling all-round here and great progression of the Gulak vs Tozawa feud.
Kalisto defeated Enzo Amore by Disqualification but Enzo Amore retained the Cruiserweight Championship. Grade: C- Ariya Daivari doing Enzo’s signature promo before the match was rather entertaining, they could do a fun little thing by having Enzo get other heels to do his promo for him whilst his voice is gone; thankfully WWE didn’t make Enzo struggle to speak on national television or on PPV again. Enzo spent most of the match trying to avoid the challenger clearly trying to win by count out and even trying to get counted out himself. A creative way to have Enzo disqualified by kicking the ref into the ropes to knock Kalisto off the top rope. A rather underwhelming and short match at the end of the day however.
