As Final Battle fast approaches, Ring of Honor saw Marty Scurll vs Beer City Bruiser, Motor City Machine Guns vs The Kingdom for the Tag Team Championships and Adam Page vs Flip Gordon.
Marty Scurll defeated Beer City Bruiser. Grade: B- A good opening match saw Scurll struggling early with the size difference, however after the referee was taken out The Villain used his umbrella to get the win. Jay Lethal and his presence on the ram was interesting given he didn’t attack of make a move on his Final Battle opponent, leaving the audience with much to ponder.
Dalton Castle Promo/Interview. Grade: B- The Dalton Castle did well to play up the history between he and Cody as well as tell his story on his journey to the Ring of Honor World Championship. As the main event of Final Battle this feud has been phenomenal in parts but underwhelming in others.
The Briscoes trash Bully Ray’s Training School. Grade: B+ The Briscoes took to Bully Ray’s personal training school attacking its students and even hitting a 3D, while destroying as much of the school as possible. This feud ahs really taken off and is hitting all the marks. Wonderful work.
Colemans Pulpit with Caprice Coleman. Grade: D. I understand the idea of having Caprice Coleman interview himself ahead of a Television Title match with Kenny King, but this just felt silly and really missed the mark.
Motor City Machine Guns retained the ROH Tag Team Titles against The Kingdom. Grade: B- A good title defence for MCMG, the Kingdom seem to be slightly struggling at the moment without much success; their introduction of weapons into the match here hurt their own cause
Flip Gordon defeated Adam Page. Grade: B. A good fun match with a whole lot of flips. Flip Gordon is incredible and Hangman Page more than holds his own in terms of flips and athleticism. A huge victory for Flip Gordon over a Bullet Club member, however after the match the Young Bucks came out and hit a superkick on Gordon
