Smackdown live continues to be the more creative and exciting episode for WWE viewers. However, the excitement may have died down of late with the repetitive and often boring beginning promo’s from Shane McMahon. This week could offer up some interesting development with many of the stories currently ongoing. As a result, Smackdown could be worth the watch.
To begin the episode, viewers can look forward to yet ANOTHER opening segment from the exhilarating voice of Shane McMahon and his unnecessary insight. Furthermore, with the constant tease of general manager Daniel Bryan’s return to wrestling, fans can only hope that the Running Knee will make its highly anticipated return and silence Shane. Although a likely showdown with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will close this segment and announce the matches for the night.
The tag team’s of Smackdown have had an interesting time of late, with Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin recently losing to the New Day. The title picture has been thrown wide open as fans aren’t interested in a repeat feud between The Usos and The New Day. The Bludgeon Brothers and The Fashion Police also seem to be stuck in a rut with no meaningful story line as of yet.
In the mid card, fans can expect more aggressive staredowns and interviews between Bobby Roode and Baron Corbin. A feud that hasn’t really taken off yet with the receding rebel Corbin looking more bland than ever, giving the US Title no real meaning. We can all hope that this feud comes to an abrupt end as soon as possible. After Jinder hindered his push by what seems to be a break up with the Singh Brothers, Aj Styles must be looking to capitalise on Mahal’s new found vulnerability and bring this feud to a close. The likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and even Rusev will be chomping at the bit to get a chance at Styles’ title.
There is a lot to look forward to on Tuesday Night, even the Women’s Division has some much needed freshness and excitement, especially following Ruby Riott pinning the Women’s Champ Charlotte. The opportunity for a lot of new stories and added levels to existing stories have been set up from last week. This being WWE however, fans shouldn’t get too hopeful. I believe the potential for something truly exciting will not be wasted. My opinion is that the title holders are going to play a big role on Tuesday with the possibility with a new champ being crowned.
