The final 205 Live of 2017 saw Hideo Itami take on Jack Gallagher just 24 hours on from injuring his partner The Brian Kendrick. Tony Nese returned after the Zo Train attacked him to take on Akira Tozawa, and Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali teamed to face Drew Gulak & Ariya Daivari.
Hideo Itami defeated Jack Gallagher. Grade: B- Itami continued to build momentum in the Cruiserweight Division defeating Gallagher just 24 hours after breaking two bones in the face of Gallagher’s partner The Brian Kendrick a smart match up here, hopefully Itami can continue to be built as a legitimate killer.
Tony Nese defeated Akira Tozawa. Grade: C+ A good return to action for Tony Nese who interestingly still trying to impress Enzo & the Zo Train even after they beat him down a few weeks ago. Unfortunate that it had to be Tozawa taking the loss here; remember when he was the one to dethrone the King of the cruiserweights Neville? Even if the Titus Brand thing was awful.
Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali defeated Drew Gulak & Ariya Daivari. Grade: C+ I understand Cedric is the number one contender, but couldn’t you give Mustafa Ali his own entrance in his hometown of Chicago who were clearly behind hm. Gulak continues to be fantastic on the microphone while Ali & Cedric came across as childish pre-match. The standard tag team match with some tension being teased between Gulak & Daivari on the Zo Train in their leaders absence.
