There has been a lot of speculation on John Cena facing AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34 next year. However, according to a certain person named “Dave Meltzer”, that just might not be the case anymore…

In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that John Cena will not be facing AJ Styles at the event as Cena “is in a much bigger match than Styles.” Meltzer also adds that he doesn’t exactly know as to who Cena will be facing, but the match should be cleared within a few weeks.

The main event for the SmackDown-branded WWE Fastlane pay-per-view in March will be AJ Styles defending the WWE Championship in a five-way match against Randy Orton, Shinsuke NakamuraKevin Owens and Sami Zayn, as announced in the official website of The Nationwide Arena.

AJ Styles is most likely to be heading into WrestleMania 34 as the champion.

As for John Cena’s opponent, Dave Meltzer reported that the only possible names he could come up with (Hold Your Breath…) were Batista, The Undertaker, Bill Goldberg and the very unlikely- Hulk Hogan! After all, there’s no way Hulk Hogan would be able to put a WrestleMania worthy match at this stage of his life. Adding to this point, Hogan was earlier involved in a controversy surrounding a leaked racist rant.

It is to be noted that angles featuring the most important WrestleMania matches will take place at the 25th anniversary of RAW on Monday, January 22, 2018. As we know, huge names in the industry such as The Undertaker, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels have already been announced for the special.

WWE RAW’s 25th Anniversary will take place live from The Barclays Center as well as Manhattan Center in New York City.

After WrestleMania 33, many people agreed on the fact that The Undertaker might as well had his “Last Ride” with the WWE. But given the fact that John Cena “is in a much bigger match” than AJ Styles, I would say that the two most likely individuals to face him as of this writing are- The Undertaker & Batista. Batista has also recently hinted that he would like to return to the WWE “one more time”.

Nevertheless, we all know for sure that something big is going to go down on January 22, 2018.
